Robert Mongole, J.D.
Senior Attorney
Robert is a highly skilled Senior Attorney with experience assisting exploration and production companies in environmental and legacy lawsuits, drafting title opinions and curative documents, and enforcing rights under purchase and sale agreements, operating agreements, and similar surface and mineral instruments. Mr. Mongole also represents small business owners, real estate owners, and contractors with a focus on commercial real estate contracts, first party insurance disputes, corporate structuring, employment contracts, and litigation. Mr. Mongole has represented clients and their interests across Texas and Louisiana.
Mr. Mongole’s previous roles include working as the Senior Acquisitions and Divestiture Advisor for Cinco Energy, the Land Manager and Corporate Counsel for Gaither Petroleum Corporation, and as an Oil and Gas Title Attorney and Landman for Allen & Associates. During his time at LSU Law, Mr. Mongole was awarded the Chancellor’s Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award for his volunteer work with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office and served as an editor for the Mineral Law Institute Newsletter.
Mr. Mongole has been named Rising Star Super Lawyer in 2022, a distinction awarded to less than 2.5% of practicing attorneys.
Representative Experience:
- Managed the $600m+ acquisition of Haynesville assets in East Texas
- Managed the $200m+ acquisition of Permian Basin assets
- Managed numerous small acquisitions of Eagle Ford, Bakken, and Marcellus Shale assets
- Successfully litigated environmental legacy lawsuits in Louisiana, including drafting, submitting, and arguing all motions, pleadings, and other moving documents necessary for the same
- Successfully enforced Purchase and Sale Agreements, including drafting, submitting, and arguing all motions, pleadings, and other moving documents necessary for same
- Successfully represented contractors in construction disputes
- Successfully represented real estate clients against their insurance companies, including a $1.2m settlement payment for commercial real estate client
- Successfully represented tenants in the early termination of commercial leases
