Chris Knop is Of Counsel to Kearney, McWilliams & Davis, PLLC. He is Board Certified in Oil, Gas & Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. His practice focuses on the development of oil and gas assets and estate planning.

Chris' oil and gas experience includes energy contract litigation, acquisitions and divestitures, title, regulatory issues, and corporate counsel. Chris received his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 2005 and his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. In early 2016, Mr. Knop became President of Bankers Oil Corporation, a privately-held oil and gas company with producing leasehold interests in Texas, Kansas and Colorado, and he oversees the administrative, accounting, tax and legal aspects of the company. Chris also served in several in-house roles at Apache Corporation and Hess Corporation, with responsibilities focused on division orders, lease analysis, title curative, owner relations and prospect analysis.

He is a member of the Oil, Gas & Energy Resources and the Corporate Counsel Sections of the State Bar of Texas, and the Real Estate Section of the North Dakota Bar. Chris volunteers with the American Heart Association and the Special Olympics of Texas.

Mr. Knop is licensed to practice in Texas and North Dakota. He serves as the Managing Member of the Knop Law Firm, based in Houston, Texas.
