Mario Varela is an Immigration and Patent Attorney at Kearney, McWilliams & Davis, PLLC. He studied Electrical Engineering at Tecnologico de Monterrey in Mexico and completed the MBA program at the University of Houston. In addition, he received his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 2013. Prior to working as an attorney, Mr. Varela managed the quality system of electronic manufacturing companies and has hands-on experience investing in real estate.

Mr. Varela’s interests include intellectual property, business and family immigration, business and commercial matters. Born in Mexico and a native Spanish speaker, he prosecutes patent applications before the USPTO and WIPO, mainly in electric/electronic and mechanical areas, represents employers interested in hiring foreign national professionals, individuals interested in becoming permanent residents, and immigration clients in removal proceedings. He is also a bilingual Certified Mediator.

Mario Varela is licensed to practice law in Texas and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is based in the Houston, Texas, office for Kearney, McWilliams & Davis, PLLC.
