Karl Halder is Of Counsel to Kearney, McWilliams & Davis, PLLC. His primary focus areas include software patents and data privacy. In addition to advising clients in these areas, Karl helps clients with negotiating deals, drafting contracts, formulating strategy, guiding operational implementations, and ensuring compliance, among others.

Karl utilizes his deep domain knowledge and diverse business experience to understand client needs thoroughly and navigate the nuances of applicable laws effectively. Prior to working as an attorney, Karl held progressively responsible positions that spanned consulting, sales, marketing, and management. He acted as a trusted advisor to the decision makers at Fortune 500 as well as small-to-medium businesses trying to utilize technology to meet business requirements that were often shaped by various laws and regulations at the federal and the state levels. Karl has collaborated with stakeholders in disparate functional areas while negotiating pricing, terms, and conditions to finalize contracts for major sourcing commitments.

As the proprietor of a multi-location brick-and-mortar business for the past 10 years, Karl has obtained critical, firsthand insight into the legal and operational dynamics facing small-business owners in general and franchisees in particular.

Karl Halder is licensed in Texas and is a Registered Patent Attorney before the United States Patent & Trademark Office. He is based in the Houston offices of Kearney, McWilliams & Davis, PLLC.
